Who is Sadhguru?
Jagadish "Jaggi" Vasudev (born 3 September 1957), known by the honorific title Sadhguru, is an Indian yoga guru and proponent of spirituality.
Sadhguru opened his relationship to spirit at a young age when he started doing yoga daily at 13 years old. Though Sadhguru was practicing yoga, he was not inclined to participate in the sharing of the wisdom at that time.
After graduating from the university of Mysore, Sadhguru started his working career owning a poultry farm in a remote part of Mysore that he set up with borrowed money. In the process of constructing his farm, he also entered into construction business with a company named Buildaids.
In 1983, he taught his first yoga class in Mysore. Over time, he began conducting yoga classes across Karnataka and Hyderabad travelling on his motorcycle, subsisting on the produce of his poultry farm rental and donating the collections received from his students.
In 1992, Sadhguru established the Isha Foundation, an organization headquartered near the city of Coimbatore as a platform for his spiritual and educational activities. He remains its head until now. The organization offers yoga programmes under the name "Isha Yoga" and is run "almost entirely" by volunteers.
Sadhguru is also the author of several books and a frequent speaker at international forums.
